Fuses blown good for car radio

Fuses only started to blow after 2 years. Powerful little amp and great sound, but 2 years just isn't enough for a $200 amp.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Some trouble

Low frequencies automotive and automotive electronics only

I bought this to power 1-2 speakers (no subwoofers). This amp is limited by a low pass filter at 200Hz with no other pass options. Nowhere in the description is this not indicated, and in a single photo it is not visible.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Modern

A lot of power in a small package!

Absolutely delighted with this little amp. As a child he built huge systems, now there are only melodies in the boat. I have it pushing a 10 inch subwoofer in my boat and it makes a thud. No noise floor, gets really hot, super clean and I can't believe the performance in such a small package. Was caught in a storm for a couple of weeks where there was a moderate amount of moisture around him. Still works great. Good job Kenwood!

Good performance, fits everywhere

Good performance for its size. You probably plan to use it as a subwoofer or center channel speaker. It's important to note that it only puts out 200 watts into 4 ohms. I've used it to power an 8" Skar subwoofer and it works fine with the subwoofer set to 2 ohms. Not strong but fits many places, looks good and works well. I will probably upgrade to a more powerful amp now as my subwoofer is busted. Comes with a wiring harness with nice long wires.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Compatibility

Great power for tight spaces.

For just over $100 this was a big upgrade from my stock amp in a 2009 Mazda Tribute. The price saved me about $90 compared to other stores. Installation was easy and the quality is what I expect from Kenwood. I haven't had enough time to test it thoroughly and will update accordingly. So far the only problem I've encountered is the input sensitivity (gain). My main unit has a 4V preamp, but I have to turn the gain on this amp almost all the way up to get enough sound. I'm still testing songs…

Big power and sound in a very small package.

I love this little amp! It's a solid performer with built-in low-pass crossover control as well as gain control. It coped perfectly with my two 10" subwoofers into 2 ohms and hardly ever gets warm. This is a very small amp, you shouldn't have a problem finding a place for it, it's smaller than a child's shoebox. It's almost hot no i would put it under the seat in the car and forget it with no problem.sound is clean and clear.i've been playing tracks that i've listened to for decades and they…

Original title: DOA but still optimistic

I received the replacement unit, checked all connections and outputs and it works very well! The bass is punchy (from my 10" Rockford Fosgate subwoofer), the sound is clear and easy to tune. I like that it's very compact as it can easily be replaced with a factory subwoofer in my car - the whole truck wiggle with no noticeable distortion. All in all a great price and I can't think of any reason why I would want to spend more.First review: Got one for Christmas but seems to be DOA.Noisy.After…

A week after the 1 year warranty expired, the fuses blew.

Sounded great and very loud but a week after the 1 year warranty expired the fuse on the amp blew. Eventually he started smoking. I opened it up and the mounting screw on the board rubbed the insulation behind it and touched the case. He paid the entire fee. 10/01/17 This amp has been replaced with another of the same model. This time I have a very quiet output with the same setting as before. I tested the speaker again with a different amplifier and it works perfectly. I'll be returning this…

Surprisingly small, sounds good, great price.

This little amp works well for my 10" flat PIONEER TSSWX2502 subwoofer. Unfortunately I have to use the factory speaker level input as the system is built into all parts of my Nissan Leaf. One would expect the input level from the speakers to be quite high, but in fact I have full gain on the amp and it's barely loud enough compared to my other speakers. I am very happy that I got such a small amplifier. If it were bigger, like even "small" non-digital amps, I wouldn't have a good place to…

Impressive Car Audio

I installed this amp for a friend to replace a 20 year old Altec Lansing which was at the time the only amp small enough to run in the available without overheating space to fit. When I installed car stereos as professional class A/B amps, this compact amp only drew about 20 watts and was used on tweeters, and several class D amps on the market were larger than the iPhone 7 and only put out about 50 watts . and still MUCH bigger than that Kenwood. I've seen names change hands over the years and
