Clear to read and easy to use but slow to respond to button presses.

This unit connects directly to a Kenwood KDC-MP368BT stereo system, easy to read and use which is good as the directions aren't the best and the unit itself tends to be slow To be able to react to other button presses it works pretty well. Note, however, that it comes with a 36-inch connection cable that connects to the receiver box. If you're further away, you'll need an extension cord.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Looks good but unreliable

Did 3 boat trips in less than 3 months and stopped working. Looks great but not reliable. Installation is simple and straightforward, just plug it into your receiver. Now I have a hole in my console. I am very afraid that the replacement will be the same. Sea products need to be reliable due to the conditions and environment and this is not up to standard. BAD, very disappointed. Don't buy this and save yourself the hassle and drilling holes in your boat.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No machine gun

Skip it for free, even on a wet rainy day.

Do yourself a favor if you really need a remote and separate radio head. DO NOT use a Kenwood two-way radio and especially this remote control head. He WILL fetch water, PERIOD. The lens is held in place by a thin double-sided tape that peels off with the heat. Go with a different brand, period. Please note: Forget the warranty, these sites and dealers are not authorized by Kenwood. Period. I got water after 2 months. I tried it, took off the bad tape and carefully taped the RTV clear. The lens

Avoid like the plague

I got this unit with a new boot, has worked great for months, now the volume is patchy, press once and it goes from 1 to 15 or moves the volume doesn't seem at all either the basic radio not being marine quality, the first radio lasted a season and was then blocked as it sat all winter (in covered storage). it lasted 2 months and also suffocated! Bluetooth is a nightmare, yes it connects to more than one phone at the same time, but you'll be amazed what happens when you can't tell which phone…

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • I'll be silent

Great marine remote control!

We ordered two of these for our boat to pair with our new KMRD765BT. Using a 7-meter extension cable, they connected it to the main unit and stretched it to the position of the first remote control. Then we installed the CA-Y107mr splitter in the first console and the first extension. Then I connected the second extension cord to "Y" and continued to the stern of the boat for the second console. . We knew everything was well connected, but they didn't even light up when the device was on and…

Looks great but not very functional.

I installed two of these on my boat because my KMR-D768BT head unit is in the glove box and my wife isn't the best DJ. I put one on the rudder and one on the stern. They look great and work well even though I've only had them for about 2 weeks. Installation wasn't too difficult, but be sure to order enough connection cables and the necessary Y-cables if you're using multiple remotes. I make a living installing audio/video equipment and am pretty good at it, but I had a lot of trouble connecting

Pros
  • Rugged design

  • Modern
