My dealer was able to cut and program the key.

My dealer was able to cut and program the key. Works flawlessly. Beware of local locksmiths! It seems, in my area at least, that the old mom and dad store fronts have been replaced by a club with an answering machine that assigns work to anyone who shows up at your house, charges you for house calls, and charges you. for work. This model tends to treat everyone's needs as an emergency that will cost you more. My dealer had a fixed price lower than the local locksmith.

Good quality, but you can't program it yourself.

Bought for my 2013 4runner. Went to their website as listed and quickly found that it needed programming by a dealer or a locksmith. Of course it had to be cut out, which I expected. It has a security chip and needs to be programmed for the buttons to work. I took it to a locksmith. After 10 minutes and $75, it was cut out and programmed. He said some of the keys on Revain were really awful and cheap, but he said this one was good quality. No problem with that. Works as it should. I just…

Did the job for two years.

Contrary to what some websites claim, self-programming is not possible. Even tried one of the OBDII devices. Vain. Dealer must program. I know it has nothing to do with the product, but it's worth considering. The key fell out of the plastic cover after 2 years. Not sure how this compares to OEM but seems like it shouldn't have happened. So, now everything is super glued. The transponder is on the front of the case that contains the real key, so if I want to replace a broken club I have to go…

This may or may not work.

Depending on which lazy dealer you go to, you may or may not program the key. At first I tried to find an auto mechanic but no one near me could do it. I went to the dealer and was told it would cost $75 to program and $75 to make a key. They also said they couldn't guarantee the programming would work because I didn't purchase it from their parts department for $218. I waited about two hours and they just cut out the key. The key starts my 4 runner and can open the doors manually but none of…

It was a wrong key for my 2012 Rav4

After researching and cutting the key (which was another problem because it was thicker than my original key) we arrived at the need to program it . Due to the fact that the chip was used to turn the car on, I had to buy a new chip from the key programmer as the one in it wasn't the one either (which he showed me on the scanner). This was after verifying that I had purchased the G-Chip with the correct model number. After that the ignition worked and the car could start. Then came key…

Perfect fit for my Toyota 4runner

When I bought my car there was only one key. Having a spare key is very important, so I decided to make one. First, a local Toyota dealer told me it would cost over $300 to duplicate a key. It seemed extreme so I went online to look for options. I saw that I could buy a key online for $20-$40 and then take it to a local locksmith to have the key cut and programmed. I used a company in Phoenix called ACME and they cut my $4 key and programmed it for $69. My grand total was less than $100 to have

A perfect replica of the original. Looks new and clean. But of course it's not programmed. You have several options.1. You can get it from the dealer. Some dealers program it for you for free since you have the key. Others will charge a full price of several hundred.2. You can take the key to an auto mechanic who will charge you around $70 per key.3. Or program it yourself by buying such a cable and save some money: it's time to program it. It is not easy. Like any cheap software, it is very…
