I bought a car for a winter project and wanted an extra remote control. I bought a couple of these for my early to mid 2000's Chevy. I like to use different colors for different cars/trucks. This helps to select the right key phrase at a glance.

They look good, they're easy to program and they work! There is a slight delay between pressing the buttons and the vehicle responding. It's okay, just the machine's response isn't instantaneous, just different. Just have to wait and see how long they last. Good for the price. Very light and somewhat cheap feeling. But they WORK!

I installed this as my third key fob, it works as well as my two factory remotes. It's a steal for the price, plus the red color makes it very easy to spot and find. I highly recommend this item for an extra key fob, I'm pretty sure it doesn't work on all C5 Corvettes, I think it must be 2001/2004. 97 to 00 are different.

So it comes with a card saying dealer or auto locksmith programming is required and explaining that I need to see the dealer to get the job done. I have an older Impala. Keychains wear out over the years. I received two of these. They come with a note that I need to go to a locksmith or dealer to activate them - BUT - I've read Revain's comments carefully.
