Don't want to program! - Anti-theft

Delivery was good but the product itself wasn't worth it! I cut them out and when I programmed them they didn't read the chip! VERY disappointed in this product. Now I only have 2 spare keys to open doors only!

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • Requires socket

Doesn't work with interior

Key worn to locksmith. After being cut, they were able to open the doors and turn on the radio, but could not start the engine. It turns out that on my 2005 Acura MDX the keys require a transponder chip. These keys did not have this chip. I had to buy new keys from a locksmith to get keys that would work. My Revain purchase was a waste of money.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Some errors

I took them to an Acura dealer and they cut the .

I took it to an Acura dealer, they cut it out but couldn't program the chips in it. If you have an aftermarket key that you are duplicating (like this one), don't give it to the dealer, take it to a locksmith. They ended up deactivating my original key and gave me two or their own keys, all of which cost me $300. Now I have two keys that start the engine and one that can only open the doors.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Can't remember

But cheap to get cheap

My car didn't have any keys programmed so I had to call a locksmith. He couldn't get them to program, or he had his own bra and keys and they programmed them in minutes. These poor quality keys cost me $300 and now I have 4 cut keys, two of which work perfectly, and two cheap keys that I use to lock and unlock the driver's door. Let's see if they reimburse me for one of my losses. Oh, by the way, that $300 doesn't include keys, or keychains.

Programming work on a 2001 Honda Insight

I cut and programmed a pair but one of them is literally split lengthwise. I don't know if that means the metal was bad or the locksmith made a mistake. (Although he replaced the piece of metal, kindly left a small gap in the mount but that's ok.) Might help telling your locksmith that this is the guy that needs a cloning tool, which I think they do just need your work . Key. This is in contrast to programming via an OBDII tool where they require access to your car which is what my locksmith…

One of the two is good

I took these keys to Baldino's Lock & Key in Chantilly, Virginia. The locksmith said aftermarket blanks are random due to manufacturing tolerances. The first key he carved didn't open the driver's door, so he re-carved it into another, larger car. Bingo! He opened the door and started the car (Acura 2000 TL). So he cut the second key on the larger machine. That key didn't open the driver's door, so he tried cutting it open again. No love. According to the locksmith, the second key was too…

  • Sturdy construction

  • Not automatic
