Kicker 46KISLOC2 Stereo Line Output Converter Review

I installed this on my 2016 Honda Accord Sport to use a 10" bass trumpet. The instructions were very direct. Good product! I will use this future setup. Note: To turn on 12V you need to connect it to both left and right channels and also connect to ground.

How did I not know something like this existed? This is one of the best products I've ever bought. Installed in a 2018 Silverado where 12 volt switching is hard to find. Installed in the left C-pillar and connected to the cables of these speakers. A line-out converter that doubles as a remote output? Who would have thought that.

Used on Civic EX 07 with Premium sound. I turned it on straight through the rear speakers and it sounds fantastic. I have a top notch sound system but decided to try this LOC without bypassing the factory amp and it was amazing. I use it to drive a Boss monobloc amp and a 10" Rockford subwoofer and they all sound fantastic. I would use it again and will use it on future cars!

Just received this and tested it on the dyno to find out about this remote turn on lead that is mysteriously only capable of producing 12v across speaker signals. Well it outputs 12V if you ground the black wire. Without grounding the black wire it generated 5V. I think that's obviously important as one of the benefits of this is the remote wire. From the way they advertise it, it sounds like the remote only generates 12V with speaker signals.

. I use the main unit speaker outputs to power the subwoofer amp. This Kicker 46KISLOC2 is ideal for converting signals to RCA levels. The output is a very powerful 8 volts which perfectly controls the amp. I'm glad it has a 12v output lead to power my amp with DC bias from the speaker outputs. Plugged in right, works...but not on closer inspection. The amp kept beeping. Started checking and rechecking the wire connections and found that this converter only put out a 6V signal to turn the amp on. Also, at higher dB, the signal is lost from the converter and does not reach the amplifier. So I was a bit hesitant to order this after reading a few bad or low reviews and most people having trouble understanding the wiring. This model sounded great. You can only get a signal if you connect ground and a remote cable in addition to the speaker level inputs. When I plugged the blue remote into my external amp, it never turned off. It can detect 6V on speaker wire from 2021 OEM amps, so the red LED never goes out either.
