Luckily the gate is sturdy as it arrived in torn and mangled packaging. There were also no assembly instructions included.

The gate broke after 2 months. The main brace is cheap plastic. I thought I was buying a quality product from Kidco, but this is clearly not the case.

I've searched everywhere for the perfect gate to keep my cats out of the guest area of our home. It's so easy to install and easy to use. It's big enough that even my big cat can't jump over it. The gate swings in both directions.

This is a solid gate that is easy to use. You have to move the bar to open it and it can swing the other way. We have a wide staircase and that fits very well. I bought brackets that hold it to the wall because it has slipped a bit but once I put the brackets in place it fits snugly and stays in place even with two kids knocking on it now and then.

Good door, very high, easy to use, but it has to be adjusted perfectly and absolutely level so that the machine is close to the work place. I have a couple of brawlers and the gate voltage is set to keep it confusing all the time so the auto close doesn't work. But if you're living in the ideal world of a child, you'll be fine.

I have several wonderful children's goals in my house. I have ordered this gate twice and had problems both times. Recently I received a gate with 70% of the installation kit missing. I finally called and received excellent service with replacement parts being shipped which took 7-10 days to arrive. Just terrible. Nothing is more frustrating than taking everything out of the box and beginning assembly before discovering a crack in the "strong steel construction". There is no way we would allow this to protect our child from falling down the stairs. However, we attributed it to a shipping accident and tried again. I was worried when I read the bad reviews on here but I bought 2 of these caps anyway and I'm glad I did. They were easy to install, easy to open for adults, and kept toddlers (even my pushy one) from opening them, and they have the nice feature of staying open when the toddler isn't around.
