It didn't work as the smoke went through the house

It was an unusually windy night when the wood stove door wasn't fully closed. A counter-move opened the door and smoke filled the living room. After airing the house, I checked the unit and all the alarms were fine. I then lit the candle and placed the alarm directly over the candle about 12 inches above it for 30 seconds and no response. I don't know if the device has a limited lifespan, but it shouldn't check if everything is ok. I will not buy again.

Bad design. pain in the neck. Don't buy this!

If the battery is empty every few months, it immediately starts chirping and talking to you. If it happens at 2am, you won't be able to sleep. You have to get up and change the battery. If they only sense battery power when there's a little more energy left, they might start by tweeting every few hours to help you sleep through the night. This device ruins your sleep. Don't buy this. With the technology available today, there is no need for that. This is a mini nightmare. I warned you! I bought

Common false alarms

Some of these were installed by an electrician during a home renovation. Unfortunately, every time the power goes out, even for a moment, they turn off all their alarms, first carbon monoxide, then fire, all at ear level. There is nothing quite like walking around the house at 2am with the stairs in the dark. They have a mute button that should silence them, but not for long. The only way to stop this is to restore power or turn it off and remove the battery. When power is restored, it reports…

GREATEST POSITION!

THIS IS THE BIGGEST POS smoke alarm I have ever seen. I remodeled my house last year and the finishing touches were new smoke/carbon monoxide alarms throughout the house (8 alarms total) and within a week of installing one of them started beeping and screaming from a fire that wasn't really there was. I re-read the instructions and realized that I had installed the detector in a location that was "not quite perfect, but still within specs". I moved the detector and reinstalled the battery and…
