Great product for insulation

Bought this instead of Dynamat because the price was cheaper. Installed a kilmat on the roof and floor of my desert truck to soundproof the cabin. Worked great and shaped well around the waves on the bottom. Follow the specified installation procedures to ensure maximum adhesion. I painted the Kilmat 3 weeks after it was in the truck. Would recommend the product. Sufficient soundproofing to do the entire roof and 90% of the floor of my 2001 Ranger extended cab.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No power

Now I can yell at people on the phone and no one will give me weird looks.

Now I can turn on the music and close the doors. I can't hear any music other than a very muffled bass. At full volume I can't even hear the mids and highs. This only if the inner lining of the door panel is completely lined with this material. I have a BMW 335i so there is built in insulation taped to the metal panels but I could still hear beforehand. Now he is silent. Very strange. This means I can now yell at people on the phone and no one in the parking lot will give me weird looks.

  • Brings joy

Great product and great price.

Purchased when I decided to replace the speakers in my car. Insulation is top notch. The sheets have raised waffle areas that need to be flattened as a gauge for proper seating. The adhesive is strong but needs to be set to +50F, but you can use a heat gun in colder weather like I did. Simply cut with razor blades. I bought a roller but didn't use it much, instead I used a plastic trim tool, it worked much better, especially in the doors. It has an odor, but only a faint one. The foil on theโ€ฆ

Works great - body

I installed this on my '91 BMW E30 truck because I was missing trunk liner and trunk mats and the exhaust rumble was killing me at highway speeds. I installed them with a roller (sold separately) and a heat gun (bought elsewhere) and a man. it was the difference between day and night. Gone are the drones that give me a headache after hours of driving. Exhaust echoes in the trunk are practically eliminated and driving pleasure returns. Some people complain about the weight of these things, butโ€ฆ

Works better than I expected

This product is an amazing price for what you get. I have an electric car and the lack of engine noise (especially on freeways) makes every other noise more and more obvious. Also, the insulation in my car door wasn't staying where it was supposed to, leaving me with some cold air. I've spent 45 minutes on each door (I've only done the back ones so far) and it's already changed the world. The cold air no longer passes and the noise from the back seat is quieter. Placebo maybe, but I feel likeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • I can't fault that, everything is fine

Kilmat is a KING. on body

I bought a Kilmat to make my 2002 Saturn SL2 sleeve. 25 sq feet is all you need for a perfect four door fitment. In addition to the Kilmat, I glued/glued Reflectix as an outer door frame seal. To do this on a Saturn, simply use a torx bit and unscrew the door panels. Only 1.0 hour time per door. Here are the results.1. The door rattle is gone.2. Door knocking on closing disappeared.3. The wind noise at the door disappeared.4. An air conditioner in a car is +5 ยฐC colder at 30 ยฐC during the day5.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Protection

Best Value (Honda Civic Coupe EX-L 2012)

The long drive raised some concerns about wind and road noise while driving. I had no idea how much soundproofing my car was missing. So I started looking around Revain to find the cheapest soundproofing per square foot. After stumbling upon this I wanted to see how much of a difference it would make and how difficult just doing the doors would be. Each door (2 total) took about 1 1/2 hours which I did on different days. This made a HUGE difference in wind noise and I highly recommend startingโ€ฆ
