Color applies easily and builds up well

This set of 72 colored pencils comes in a metal tin. The pens are divided into two tiers, so you remove the plastic pen holder from the bottom set to access them. There is a wide range of colors in the set, although some of them don't quite live up to their name (e.g. sepia isn't brown, it's blue). However, you can tell the color by looking at the tip or colored band at the other end of the pen. These pencils are sharp but not sharp. However, you can easily sharpen them with a pencil sharpener.

  • Special offer
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

Excellent color pencil set

This is a great set. First, it comes in a large tin box, not a cardboard container like a set of crayons. There are two bowls for 36 colors each, and the manufacturer even sorted them directly by color (the first thing I do with a set of crayons or colored pencils is to arrange them in a spectrum!). The pencils themselves are beautiful, with a smooth outer surface and a lead-colored "back end". The colors are varied (no duplicates as advertised) and the slates are richly colored and match the…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not sure

My spare set of KINGART colored pencils arrived today. Revain quickly and without question replaced the first set before the returned set was shipped yesterday. However, both sets of pens contained the same error - five incorrectly labeled pens. A dark green sepia pencil with green ink on the end and a sepia label. Brick and Red Brick pencils and Vandyke Brown and Dark Brown pencils are replaced with Brick and Red Brick color on the ends and Vandyke Brown and Dark Brown names on the pencils and

Great price for Nice colored pencils

1st set returned due to missing and broken pen. The second set came in 2 days. They come in a white tin with shells that are very fragile and difficult to remove. They have a black body with colored ends. The pencil has color names, #s and company names that are very legible. They are softer than Prisma Color Verithins. Similar to Derwent Artists except the leads are smaller. More to paint, small details etc. Really good colors but they need to be layered for darker colors and they layer very…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Unusable features

I'll admit I'm a total crayon snobby. My favorites are the Caran d'Ache Pablo and Faber Castell Polychromos BUT a large set of either will cost you a small fortune. If you're just learning to use crayons or trying them out and not sure if you like them, you'll be disgusted to see your money grinding in a pencil sharpener. There are a lot of really cheap brands out there that are downright terrible. But they say they are for professional artists and I believe in that. They are very creamy and…

All-in-one set in a sturdy metal case

This is a set of 72 colored pencils in a metal case. Each pencil is approximately 6.5 inches long and comes pre-sharpened with blunt tips (some of my tips were broken upon delivery). The main body of the pencil is painted black with silver lettering giving the color name, color model number and the words "Color Pro". The last inch of the pencil has a colored tip in the same color as the pencil and the Kingart logo. The metal storage box measures approximately 13" x 7.25" x 1". It contains two…

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other sets

Good quality. at Drawing, Painting & Art Supplies

Over the years I've worked with a variety of colored pencils, from Crayola to Prismacolor. There are aspects that I like about this set, but also areas that I would like to improve. This is good: - A great collection of pens (72) that should give you lots of colors for your work. - The pens stack and blend pretty well, making it easy to create smoother gradient effects. - They are easily sharpened to a fine point without breaking! I use a regular office style electric pencil sharpener. - Each…
