Worked well for a one way cross country flight

I needed to buy a one way bike across the country and was looking for a cheaper bag to get the job done. I watched a few YouTube videos on how to pack a bike. I added cardboard and bubble wrap according to the suggestions I was looking at. The bag was too small to fit any wheels so I had to remove both wheels on a bike the size of a 5ft 6-5ft 10 inch man. I did not tape the protective tape to the bottom of the bag as one reviewer suggested, knowing it would most likely be disposable. The bike…

First time using

I have just packed my bike for shipping overseas. The material convinced by its durability. I was also impressed with the zipper; I would have thought it would be a lot cheaper but it seems to be holding up great. While the instructions only say to remove the handlebars and front wheel, I recommend removing the pedals and seat as well. My bike is a Trek 7.1 FX and I wasn't happy with how much the seat pressed against the top of the bag or how the pedals pressed against the sides. Both are too…

Worked like a champ. With a little help.

First I taped the bottom of the bag with black tape - that's the key. Then I put a piece of cardboard in the pocket (exactly the same size as the side of the pocket), I used it to give a good shape and secure my fit (so it doesn't ring in the pocket. Got the standard made, removed the steering wheel and pedals and wrapped the derailleur protected bike.Went to and from Hawaii and the bag worked great. The gorilla on the bottom is worn from being towed by the airline but that's what it's made…

It's a good bag and works well

I have traveled from Chicago to San Francisco and then back. Due to a schedule I didn't ship my road bike with TriBike Transport so I took the bike to the airport in a bag. The bag is light. United Airlines charged $150 each way ($300 total) and the bag was less than $50. So the cost is about the same if you send a service. Southwest Airlines is only $75 each way. I wrapped the bike in bubble wrap, removed and capped the handlebars and front brake connector. I also removed the front wheel, seat

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Not sure

this works fine but be prepared for:

This is a bag only, not a suitcase. However, considering the covers, they turned out to be bulky, heavy and not universal. So you have to remember that all the protection of the bike in the bag is yours. The rear rubber tire offers its own rear protection. With the handlebars and front wheel removed, the other impact points are the bottom of the fork and the top of the stem. I cut out wooden blocks and tied them to these two places as shock protection. Pedal boats must provide their own…

  • Free for educational purposes
