The non-return valve will not spoil your mood!

Jokes aside, this was exactly what I was looking for but could NOT find at my local hardware store. It fits snugly in a standard 4 inch duct and prevents outside air from flowing back into the house through the dryer. The first winter when we bought our house, it was always cold in the dryer. So I had to replace the outside hood, but I took it a step further by adding a check valve inside the house to create a small pocket of insulating air. Check out the photos I have attached of the installed

  • Check, measure and check

The questions are, is the product suitable for the intended use and how long will it last? This product is listed as "Dryer Check Valve", other applications further down the list. OK, here's the problem. It's pretty easy. Question 1: What happens to bare metal when exposed to water? You guessed it, Rust. The spring…

So easy to install, make sure you get the right size

I used these to replace a couple of standard mufflers (the kind with a thin sheet of paper-thick tin that pops and pops at the air duct opens every time the wind blows). Not only did the old flaps get in the way on windy days (which startled the family dog), they never closed fully, letting cold winter air into our home. Unlike older standard shocks, the shock does not flap or pop in the wind as it is a spring loaded shock that is held closed by a spring when air is not escaping. If you measure
