Quality Chain - Cycling

This chain fits my 21 speed mountain bike very well. I have 3 gears in the front and 7 in the rear. My only recommendation is to wipe off the factory lube prior to installation so you can add your own bike chain lube. Factory items are not designed for riding and wear out very quickly.

Pros
  • Chains
Cons
  • So far so good

Perfect chain for my 21 speed hybrid

Almost direct replacement for the stock KMC chain that came with my 21 speed Schwinn hybrid (7 speed rear cassette x 3 on crank arm ). The 2-way park tool makes it easy to install the main link and later remove it if necessary, although you don't really need it.

Pros
  • Parts and components
Cons
  • No performance

Arrived already stretched

So after installing this chain and riding it 60 miles I experienced some ghost shifting and shedding (I think neither is chain related, my cogs needed some adjustment ). I decided to check everything including measuring the circuit. To my surprise, it was longer than the one I replaced! Check out the photos. I've also included a new Shimano chain for reference. I ride over 800 miles a month and don't need help with chain tensioning, especially on pre-tensioned chains. This one returns.

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoors
Cons
  • Minor issues

So far, so good! - Parts and Components

FYI before replacing. Unless your chain has been dropped or broken, take a picture before replacing. That way you know how to put it all back together, assuming the bike was put together correctly. If you don't google this information. If you're replacing a chain you previously had, make sure you put both the new and old side by side and use your chain breaker to pull out the extra links you don't need to break the chain open to get the same length. . I had to remove a few links to match theโ€ฆ
