Great product great value for money

Nothing to say about KME systems - everything is as advertised and meets all reviews. I guess I'll say that KME's customer support is excellent - a notch up (pun intended). Seriously, the people at KME really seem to care about their customers and it shows in the products. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • I don't really like anything everything is fine

One of the best - Knife Sharpener

I've tried many other sharpening systems and this is my favorite without spending over $400 on a knife sharpener. The clamp works great and the stones are top notch. I also have a no clamp system and it beats it with no difficulty. It is easy to use, stones are cut quickly, and the angle is accurate. What more could you want in this price range. I would highly recommend this system and KME customer service is the best if you have any issues.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Clean

Very good for knife sharpener

Can't believe I waited so long to post my review. This sharpener is amazing. Wonderful. I've used it to sharpen utility knives, pocket knives and our entire Global kitchen knife set. Here's a trick with a smaller angle (e.g. 11-15 degrees) of Japanese blades: they flip the pivot. See photos. Now place the handle on a flat surface (I carefully used a vise) and set the angle with an angle gauge. Sharpen according to the instructions and voila, perfect edges.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was

Great tool for sharpening knives. I have .

An excellent tool for sharpening knives. I have been using Japanese Water Stones for 15 years and wish I had tried this system sooner. This is a precision gauge that allows you to consistently sharpen a blade at any angle you want. I restored the factory bevel angles and achieved razor sharpness in minutes. A substantial upfront cost that you quickly realize is tremendous value when you see the amount of time you save.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Perfect angles, I like it.

This is a great way to sharpen knives! I practiced freehand sharpening with mixed results, after badly ruining one of my best knives I began looking into sharpening systems. I wanted to stay away from electric mills because I've seen the damage they can do. After hours of watching YouTube videos and online sites, I found KME! Right out of the box, within minutes, I had an Opinel blade razor sharp. The fixed angle stock convinced me it was the best and I immediately moved on to other knives in…

Easy to use, diamond stones cut quickly

I work as a knife maker. I smoothed the bevels on my knives with a belt sander and then finished the edges with waterstones and a leather belt. This way I get a sharp razor edge. I bought this to get a more accurate blade angle and tried it out today on a blade I just finished which is a 61 Rockwell. I was really surprised at how quickly I was able to get a razor sharp edge the first time I used this system. I will buy smaller stones for him simply because I like the polished edge of my knives.

Pros
  • Water bottle and cleaning cloth
Cons
  • So far so good

Not worth the price

Feels like it's nice for half the price. The 4 little diamonds clearly make up the bulk of the cost, but the guide system feels almost homemade. The clamp is mediocre at best (I have to put a coat or two of masking tape on a couple of my knives to keep them tight enough) and other parts (angle adjuster, guide rail, and handle that holds stones in place) all require extra Tool (pliers or screwdriver) to tighten them enough. At the same time it works, but the same and Lansky for 25% of the cost…

Pros
  • Base not included
Cons
  • No insurance

Sharpening knives just got easier?

Was looking for different but similar knife sharpeners. I liked this one the best as it clamps the blade between two aluminum jaws. There are other sharpeners that don't have that. I can honestly say if you can't grab the blade, don't even try. The clamp function is a must IMHO. The sharpening stones provided are enough to get a mirror edge. I'm very happy with the sharpness I can achieve with it. It's a little tricky to adjust the angle so as not to remove too much material from the blade to…

Pros
  • Hard case
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
