I have wanted to try Knipex tools for a long time after seeing only good reviews. So I got these to replace my worn out channel locks. Right out of the box this thing is dull, chipped off and the cut surfaces don't match.

A friend referred me to this brand after my expensive tool trolley milling cutters kept bending and dulling. I love these cutters, strong, durable and easy to cut. It can also cut metal, and the cutting edges are durable. I also have their alligator tongs which I also recommend

I recently used this tool to cut a 4 AWG wire (power and ground) when installing an amp in my car and I'll tell you that after I've seen this one I have used cutters to cut this cable, I am convinced that these wire cutters can cut a lot if you have the strength in your hands. I'm going to do drills to get some extreme man hands to see how far I can take these cutters. Great tool.

There is a use (in my hands at least) for pliers that can cut musical wire. For this job I had a pair of German pliers that I bought in England 25 years ago. Eventually, although they still work, the cutting edge is covered with small round indentations. It's time to treat yourself to some more good music wire cutters, and they'll do their job well for a few years to come.

I've always liked Knipex tools but when I got these cutters I was disappointed. They cut perfectly towards the blade tip, but don't cut all the way back. When held up to the light, an obvious crack can be seen where the jaws are not properly aligned. Tried to return them but Amazon let me go. Perhaps try again with another Amazon representative. or contact Knipex directly. I'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence, everything else I have from Knipex is very well done.
