Knipex makes the tools you want to use.

It's getting MUCH harder to find/buy "good" tools these days - the big stores don't have them anymore and the smaller hardware stores are mostly lacking. This is a race to the bottom and we are all suffering. I don't want the cheapest tool. I want something that makes me smile when I reach for it. I need tools that are so easy to use that I'm looking for a project that can use them. Knipex makes such tools.

  • Great for me

It costs more, but it's worth it

My brother introduced me to Knipex tools. I slowly bought these tools for my project bag. I use these tools when working with electricity around the house. They seem to have this "attitude" like they don't pick up junk and just get on with the work that they need to do. It's fun to use these tools. The grip and feel are top notch. The quality is impeccable. This range of Knipex tools is designed to take serious abuse with thick rubber handles. Instrumentalist Tim Taylor would be proud! Highly…

It's as good as it gets.

In our shop we used all the tools from the pawl to the handyman to the old simple nameless tools. These are without a doubt the best cutters I've ever held in my hands. They just feel indestructible. The grips are very comfortable, the movement is crisp and clean. And most importantly, the finish of this tool is perfect. Even though I got stuck in one of those movies where you have to choose between cutting the red wire and cutting the black wire, I hope I have a set of these cutters with me…

My favorite side cutter.

In this report Knipex 250mm (10") Diagonal High Arm (Dam), P/N 74-06-250. This is a black worn finish, but there is also a chrome vanadium finish which may require additional rust protection. I used to be an electrician and have used many other brands that I won't mention here, all very good tools. Knipex diagonal cutters are my absolute favorites because the cut feels easy, the ergonomics are excellent, the workmanship is superb and they also come with a lifetime guarantee against defects. Great Dikes: Pliers

OMG I love them! I've had a couple of Crescent dykes and a couple of Kleins for electrical work, and to be honest I liked the Crescent better than the Klein. But he wasn't in love with anyone. The small dikes are pretty good, but they don't open wide enough and are difficult to penetrate. So I decided to spend the money and buy some good dykes. It was somewhere between Knipex and Irwin Vise Grip Max Leverage, both made in Germany and priced about the same. The decisive factor was that the…

Best diagonal cutters on the market

I bought these to replace the same pair that blew when I made a silly mistake at a live track. It's worth noting that although I broke the tool, I didn't get electrocuted, the insulated handles work fine. I haven't found one that cuts better, whether it's cutting up to 4 gauge wire, screws or thick catenary wire. The one I replaced has lasted over 5 years and is still as pretty as a new tool. Now I wear both a new pair and an old one. The hinge never binds, the handle never slips. I can…

Unmatched quality Knipex

They may cost a little more than some name brand cutters, but the quality can't be beat, even with super expensive tools. You need to buy a tool dealer's truck. I've spent a few bucks more on the insulated grip model when I'm doing hot work, but mainly for bright orange and yellow to make them harder to lose. I tried cutting .018" piano wire and it didn't leave a mark on the cut edges. I easily cut 1/0 stranded copper insulated wire; I didn't have any larger gauge wires to try on. The finish…

Great if you have very large hands.

7408250SBA 10" Diagonal High Arm Knipex These are excellent pliers but your gloves should be at least XXL to be comfortable working alone .By "work" I mean a simple opening while holding the tool at the other end of the handle. My extended XXL arm is 25cm from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the little finger, which is probably too big even for me You can just slide your hand towards the jaws or use two hands but if that's what you need you can get 8" cutters. The quality is excellent, my…
