For me as a beginner in knitting, most of the patterns in this book are a bit difficult, but they also inspire me to work on my knitting until my skills are good enough to complete them. The patterns are beautiful and the products make great gifts. One pattern that I really like and is pretty easy to make now is the Men's Scarf and Hat which uses a simple bead knitting pattern to make a very nice scarf and hat set. It's also relatively quick to knit, making it easy to give as a gift.

There are some cute little patterns in this book. I bought this for the hooded pattern which I have knitted twice and love. There are some cute designs of Fair Isle socks, scarves and berets. Easy for less advanced knitters. The cloth on the cover will probably be my next project. There is even a pattern for knitting wool tights with knitting needles. I got my book today and what I see are really good bases for many levels - and some patterns (like on the tams) that are fresh and unique. The colors Mel uses are neutral. /warm - Things you want to wear and wear all the time that are flattering and soft in all the right ways. I love the slouchy cardigan - it has a lovely finish that wraps around the piece - and I think I might be the first to try it on.
