The pencil on the left pictured was new out of the box not sharpened with a sharpener, the right one I had a new sharpener to try and it works well is working. For example, it's made of wood and works with Kola Tools Bear Tool Pencils, which are thick, thick triangle-shaped pencils. I bought these pens for my 5 year old daughter and her handwriting has improved. i love their products.

This sharpener works great with ALL my colored pencils - Prismacolor Premier, Rembrandt Polycolor, Derwent Drawing 24, Faber Castell Polychromos and Derwent Colorsoft 72. koala double sharpener is interesting but there are flaws. The design of the wooden blocks and blades is new, minimalist and light. It is suitable for standard and large pens. However, it doesn't hold pencils well and graphite builds up on the inner surfaces of the holes. It can deliver the surprisingly long tip of a standard pencil (like the Mitsubishi 9850 HB in the attached photo).
