AMAZING AND PORTABLE Best among scanners

The scanner exceeded all my expectations. 115 photos per hour at 600 dpi. The scans look fantastic. The software's "Auto-Correct" feature works as well as, if not better than, my expensive photo software. All you have to do is feed this thing photos and it will do the rest. I wanted a scanner that didn't take up a lot of space, was portable when needed, and was fast. This scanner works with photos up to 8 1/2 x 11. It scans negatives and even includes an envelope so you can easily insert small…

So far, so good.

I bought this scanner because my parents have over 50 photo albums in their basement (they and my grandparents). My brother and I thought it would be nice to scan the photos. I bought this scanner because the reviews were pretty good. I started scanning all the photos I had at home (400) and it worked. Then I started my parents' albums, starting the year I was born. After 3 albums (total more than 1000 photos on the scanner) I noticed that there were white lines on some photos. I was very…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

The scanner itself is pretty decent and surprisingly good for its size and its price. 15 randomly selected 4x6 photos and printed scan results as regular 4x6 prints. They are almost identical. If you want to scan photos with exceptional quality, you probably need something better. That being said, a warning, DO NOT purchase this scanner as a "refurbished" unit from "TheFactoryDepot", I tried twice - and in both cases the units I received were NOT refurbished and working Not. (Based on my…

Kodak P811BK still works great after over 850 scans

I have photos from 1956. About a dozen were black and white or sepia negatives, 40 or 50 were 35mm negatives. Sizes range from about 2"x 3" to maybe 7"x?. I don't know the exact standard sizes. 4x6 sounds about right to many of you. I also scanned in a full-page, standard-size magazine photo. The image didn't have too much black but I scanned some which were very dark and they came out fine.I didn't scan to an SD card. It's much better to scan to a laptop and close it straight after scanning I…

Pros
  • The scanner has a 5-in-1 memory card reader and comes with a 4GB microSD card and SD adapter, giving you enough storage space to store photos
Cons

Not the best, needs experience to solve your problems

Bought this for my parents who had to scan almost 2000 photos. Initially we encountered some problems. But later we decided that getting to know the "character" of this device is not "disappointing". Let me list some common problems that many users have mentioned in previous reviews and my pseudo diagnosis and then how to overcome them. 1) Vertical stripes appear and cleaning does not help: firstly, this is a real problem. But it's not the end of the world. I have to clarify my experience. The…

Meets all expectations, amazing

So I did a lot of research and finally bought this scanner because it takes 8x10 pictures. It was an excellent choice. It does what it says on the tin, but I haven't tried a battery-powered scan or a transparency/negative scan. So here is a quick overview of this scanner: - Capable of scanning images at 300 dpi or higher. 600dpi. When you turn it on, it defaults to 600 dpi. My photos average around 1MB in size, ranging in size from 700KB to 2.2MB. Basically, these are ordinary 4x6 images. for…
