Kodiak Cutting Tools KCT136442 Diameter Review

Used with the simple attachment, cuts 2 floors with ease. Easy cavity cleaning. Good clean cuts. I bet it will easily recycle 4+ more downvotes with no problem.

I used this cutter to drill a hole in uneven ground on hardened steel (guns) on a very expensive project. I continued using the reamer to finish the hole. This mill ran like a master. I've had good luck with the Kodiak line. Check your RPMs to make sure you're in the right range, and understand that this is a very thin size, it can break in a second if it gets stuck, or you'll go crazy diving or serving.

I don't know why this little marvel got bad reviews. I suspect users are trying to push the boundaries of what a long end mill is for! I use it to cut aircraft grade aluminum and it works great! I use it to a depth of 1.25 inches, mount it on a stationary Dremel and use the XY vise to move it left and right. As long as you take it slow and hold it at a constant angle to avoid clicking/chipping, it should serve you well.

This is the first cutter I've bought. God, this thing exploded like there was no tomorrow. I've used it with both my rotary tool and my corded drill to carve two AR-15 receivers 80% deeper and there was no sign of wear on the chimneys. The jigs for the lower receivers came with chisels for drilling and milling and of course aren't that good. Performance quickly degraded and/or broke.
