Kohler GP85556-CP: Chrome Slip Diverter Bath Spout for Effective Water Control Review

Thought this item was 8" long but turns out to be a standard 6" spout that fits into a standard bathtub, but not into a Whirlpool fits, must be ordered correct size

Everything is fine. Pretty good product considering the flimsy junk that passes for modern day plumbing. Pretty good I think, although it's not even as good as the builder level our builder originally delivered twelve years ago. For the money I was expecting the kit to include an absolutely necessary Allen key but no. I think Kohler needed those savings to turn a profit.

I bought this diverter to replace a 20 year old Kohler diverter. Assembly was easy and the diverter looks great. Two problems: 1. The set screw is a single set screw, unlike the more expensive Kohler switches which have a bracket that clamps the pipe with a set screw, 2. The diverter does NOT push all the water through the shower head. Some of the water still comes out of the spout. All in all I would buy this converter again.

Nice chrome, very shiny. Installs in less than 1 minute. Compared with universal spouts, this one is more convenient to install. As long as the diverter is pulled out, some water will still flow out. I tried 3 times and the 3rd time I pulled a lot harder and the water dripping with the faucet on seemed to stop. You must try again with the diverter on to check that no water is coming out of the spout, and then update the view if the diverter is not doing its job. Otherwise it is a nice and super

Once you know you have a threadless copper nipple protruding from the wall, installing this "slip deflector" is a snap. My only complaint is that Kohler has terrible instructions. I would never intentionally install their products in my home. It was a contractor installation before I bought the house. I should also mention that this bath and shower has been used less than 10 times in 15 years. I just noticed while cleaning that the diverter doesn't work. Was the product designed to fail with or

I used this product to replace my old Kohler spout. This is a simple device with very simple instructions. This should be easy to install if you have the right tool (Allen wrench). However, there are a few things to consider before purchasing this product: 1. Make sure your pipe length is between 1 1/2" and 2 7/8". I received this measurement from Kohler Customer Service. These are the correct properties of the pipe. 2. Beware, as other reviews have pointed out, they can leak. Mine was dripping
