Very easy kit to fit on my car, took 5-7 minutes max total. After passing the inspection, the chain on the driver's side came loose (photo attached) and ended up in the middle of the road. I rode around the big bear with my passenger chain (photo attached) for most of the day until while driving the second chain came loose and a good driver stopped me and handed me my chain. It wasn't safe.

They work best with snow chains

I just bought them and so far I really like them. I had to wear them several times and it was quick and easy. However, you need to make sure you've set them up according to the instructions beforehand and go through a test install. I removed the links as needed which was a breeze with the tools provided, reassembled everything necessary including making sure the tire stud spacer was the correct one. If you follow the instructions which unfortunately are charts with pictures and make sure…

Amazing design, crazy hieroglyphs. Instructions

These snow chains are a great purchase for use on these low clearance vehicles, but they far outweigh the value of occasional use. I just couldn't pass up another option to return home, climb our icy rural hill, but I have yet to prove their durability. Attaching these chains is not for the faint of heart as it requires some mechanical skill and some experience with the hieroglyphs of after-life instructions such as the King Tutts epitaph. The instructions are multilingual and include all the…

17, 19, 21 and 22mm nuts included

Kit includes nuts 17 and 19mm). I agree with other reviewers that this is a great product. The chains are very easy to put on and take off and are very smooth and quiet to use. As others have pointed out, chains take about 20 minutes to install before first use. The tools provided for this purpose are pretty pathetic and require significant elbow lubrication. Don't try to do this on the side of the road in the snow. Make it in your garage at home! Once set up and tested at home, they are…

Fits Mk6 GTI for snow chains

Fits very well on my 2014 Mk6 GTI with stock wheels/tires (225/40R18). According to the instructions, you need to remove two links at a time. As for the eyelet attachment, you will need the smallest diameter claw (17mm) and a silver spacer - the chains should come already fitted. The 17mm claw may need a bit of work, but take my advice - the 19mm claw is too big and will come loose. Getting dressed is very easy if you practice - it might take 5 minutes. When on, they were great. Fits snugly to…

Great chains! for car

I bought these for my Christmas trip to Tahoe and was impressed. I found the car covered in snow in the morning of the night after a heavy snowfall in the hotel parking lot. Since the car was parked face down on a slope, I had to dig out the back of the car and remove enough snow from the front wheels to install the tracks. The chains slipped very easily. I adjusted the fit at home before the trip and that single practice run on a tire made a world of difference. I put the chains on each wheel…

Excellent chains: snow chains

I really like these chains. I used to have cables and traditional chains, but I like them a lot more. I use them when I'm in my cabin in the snow. They're a little pricey, but they're worth it. The best part is how easy they are to install - you can attach them without touching the back of the wheel, so you get less mess and installation is much quicker than regular chains. There is a video on You-tube showing how they work on a tire that helped me before I used it for the first time. Other…

Easy to install and remove; good overall quality

This is a good system. Easy to put on, easy to take off. However, I highly recommend installing them at home to get a good fit and get familiar with the installation as they didn't fit exactly as the instructions said. The instructions asked me to remove one cross bolt for my tire size, but I found I had to remove three of them to install the chain. The chains will self-tension as advertised, but drive about 30 feet and check again. I put them on twice to make sure I can do it efficiently and I

Do you need advice on fitting winter tires?

Haven't really used them yet other than driving down the road to make sure they fit. HOWEVER, the customization itself was a HUGE issue, hence this review. When deciding to buy a K-Summit chain, the website has a nice 'decision tree' that guided me to the right tire size for my Toyota Corolla, at least I thought so. But when the chains arrived and I followed the fairly simple instructions (although text would have been helpful as some other reviewers pointed out [the instructions are 100%…
