Better than your stock brake pads.

This is my second purchase from Kool Stops. One was for the front brake and this one was for the rear brake. Undoubtedly they are better than the pads that came with my bike (Fuji Absolute 1.7). Braking performance has been significantly increased and the tactile feedback from the brake has become more positive. They also have a noticeable difference in stopping power when the rims are wet. I will definitely replace with others when they wear out.

I hope you are ready to stop!

Would you like to test your grip strength? Or do you want to become the new DK (Drift King) in your area? Perhaps you keep falling because of brake slip while trying to learn to walk? Or have you even got black wheels and lost all hope? Slap them on your bike and get ready for a one finger death grip. You'll hear your bike screaming while the killer plays in the background, and everyone, including their moms, will be watching as you get sick! If that doesn't sound like something you're into…

Supra 2 Salmon brake pads

I've been using them on my commuter car for over a year now and they haven't given me any problems. In comparison, the Shimano MTB pads I had been using a year earlier left a dusty black residue and tended to clog with metal chips and dirt, resulting in occasional grinding. These Kool-Stop pads (Supra 2, Salmon) never showed any of these problems. In addition, they provided stronger and smoother braking and worked better in the wet (as expected). They also have enough reach to work with old…

Great for sounding a freight train in winter.

Works great as a brake. However, if you slow down a bit, they sound like a freight train. I thought they just needed a break in, but after 3 days of commuting (only about 10 miles) they are still working. The whole world hears me. I've watched a few YouTube videos with possible fixes and if they work I'll change my rating from two stars to three stars. Edit: I managed to get rid of most of the squeaking. I had to take the tire off, grind the pads and adjust their tip a bit so the pads don't hit

Thick pads. Super wet and dry.

So far these guys are the best brakes I've had on my hybrid touring bike. Excellent braking performance in wet weather (just returned from a short ride in the rain). TIP: If you have center links with thinner pads you will have to fiddle with the shim configuration and may need an additional 3/4 inch cable. So make sure you have room for extensions before ordering - these pads are very thick. If you choose to do this, you must compensate for this thickness by minimizing the use of shims. A…

stop it quick Stop softly

I've spent the last 6 years looking for the perfect braking solution for my cyclocross bike that I use for commuting. I upgraded the center link cantilever brakes with several TRP V brakes a while ago and it's been a huge improvement. But the pads that came with TRP always made a lot of noise and wore out, so I tried these Supra 2s to see if they were any better. The first few days they creaked like crazy and I almost got rid of them. But by the end of the first week they settled down straight…

Decent stopping power. Loud squeak.

I read many reviews before I pulled the trigger for these pads. I'm no newbie to bike brakes or spinning keys. They have decent stopping power, but they're loud! I've tried every possible position to calm these things down. I used various objects like a penny, a nickel, a rubber band, and a zip tie to guide my fingers. Nothing I did could stop the screaming. Some positions were less noisy, but not by much. The other day on the trail a lady almost had a heart attack when I was slowing down on my

It's time to change the pads!

Maybe they replaced the original pads on my Bridgestone RB-1. The old ones were worn and glazed and my brakes squeaked and wouldn't stop like they should (ooh!). They seem to stop very well after a long drive. I had two installation issues, one of which matches what other reviews have said about dual pivot brakes (I think I have single pivot, but later models of the same type have dual pivot). I had trouble getting them into the space between the brake and rim and the release lever almost hits…

Great replacement for linear pull V brake pads

Kool Stop Supra 2 Brake Pads (Salmon) Salmon colored friction material advertised for wet/dry conditions but I find it works well in dry conditions. They are much thicker than the original black pads that came with the bike and appear to last longer. I use them on my road bike with 700x32 tires and Linear Link V-brakes. Kool Stop Pads have a slightly thicker edge on one side to automatically compress the pads during installation. I found the V-brakes on my bike to be pretty finicky. With the…
