This is a good product but when you have an important problem you need a big dose to solve it. When used alone, I did not get the desired result, the dose was too high, it was uncomfortable for me. I got the best result by combining this with the Nitra Zorb API, it's like having a brand new aquarium and water filtration system.

I chose this one because I couldn't afford Prime at the time and I'm not sure if I like it or not. I like that Prime is a durable material and I've been using it since I started the hobby, the only real benefit I've found is that it's cheaper and doesn't have that strong sulfur smell that Prime has. After 5 aquariums in a small space the strong sulfur smell can become overwhelming so this was a good change, does it really do what it says on the tin, who knows?

We had high levels of ammonia in our marine aquarium due to overfeeding. This product converts ammonia into a non-toxic form so it is not harmful to your fish, although your test kit will still show high levels of ammonia when using salicylate reagents. After weeks of flipping the fish and many, many water changes of 80-90%, I finally realized that our tap water has insane nitrate levels. I have used this in 2 of my shrimp tanks. One of them had its PH drop below 6 after about 24 hours. Another has had its PH drop, not much but probably only because I did a water change after adding the product. I'm sure this product works great if you have a high carb in your water, but if you have a low carb, which is common in shrimp tanks, this product seems to deplete the remaining carb and raise your PH to decrease value. especially after repeated use. This product does its job well enough: neutralizes ammonia/nitrates/nitrites. I would give it a higher score based on that alone, but read the title. I'm speaking from someone with direct experience if you have a long term problem with these chemicals in your aquarium; It is much better to find and fix the cause of the readings. Never thought it would work. For about 3 months I had a serious nitrate problem in my 100 gallon aquarium.
