Works perfectly! good for lights and ceiling fans

They are great for Shabbat and just as a night light. When our newborn arrived we needed a night light so we could change diapers in the middle of the night without waking the baby. It was great because we could use them on a weekday and then on Shabbat without having to switch between different types. Easy to use and maneuverable to control the amount of light you receive. Comes in a variety of color options if you're interested (we only went with mahogany because it was a few bucks cheaperโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Same basic design but now with a much larger light window and several times lighter than the original models. Plus, it comes with a 'bright white' bulb so you can actually read with it, and it turns off into total darkness without overheating if you wish. The only negative is that the pull switch fell apart as soon as I started using the lamp. It was a cheap Chinese thing, way inferior to the rest of the lamp. There's nothing wrong with switches made in China, but I know there are much betterโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Bargain New Improved Kosher Lamp

This thoughtful lamp design is a significant improvement over the previous version. It's larger but doesn't take up much bedside space. Depending on the size of the lamp selected, more light will be produced. The lampshade provides a pleasantly diffused light. You can easily adjust the lampshade to change your desired light level from full to zero without touching a switch, which is now being replaced by a more modern, user-friendly type (for weekday use). A wider range of colors is nowโ€ฆ

Pros
  • A Dream Come True
Cons
  • Secret

Nice device, but some weaknesses.

I like this lamp. It's a stupidly simple idea to go back to old kerosene lamps, but it's a really good thing for us Shabbat keepers. I've already found it useful in many cases because I don't have to worry about when exactly people go to bed. This is useful, for example, if you have an overnight guest and you want him to be able to "turn off" the light depending on his bedtime and not plunge him into darkness in an unfamiliar environment. (You might still want to set a late timer to save powerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable
