I would say these bungee cords are good value for a medium to light grip. Very handy pack of 10 adjustable elastic cords that can be used in many different ways. They adjust about 10 inches and stretch outwards to 40 to 45 inches. The unfolded length is 32 inches. I love that they can be easily adjusted from either end and once you've adjusted them you just slide the bungee into the grip and it stays in place nicely. UPDATE (8/19) Used them for a while and got great results. They are easily adjustable at both ends, which is a quick feature I wanted to use to reduce tying time when changing load sizes. The hooks are stronger than they look, which I tested for tensile strength first and was surprised they didn't twist or bend when pulled to their USABLE limit. Yes, this 18 inch bungee measures 18 inches from hook end to hook end. But the hooks plus the plastic bases are about 8 inches apart, so when slack the shock cord is about 10 inches between them, making them "appear" shorter than other 18-inch bungee cords as a result. And functionally, they are shorter due to the reduced length of the eyelet cord. For my use it would be better to get them 24 inches long so just a word to the wise. Probably the best guy ropes I've ever used. I've used my share of elastic cords over the years. I usually grab the cheapest ones I can find and then get frustrated at how quickly they wear out. I'm a big fan of these cables because I've had them for 6 months now and they still have incredible stretch. Most cables would be stretched so that they would only be elastic at their maximum length. Not only do these cables have excellent stretch properties, you can adjust each end for maximum exertion.
