🚀 Efficiency Boost: Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Push-in Si Valve for Simplified Cooking Review

I hesitated to order as the part looks black in the picture. However, it was blue, like the original part. It's easy to insert and works great!

Worked like clockwork. We replaced two old valves. They fit perfectly and were easy to assemble. do yourself a favor If you are having trouble sealing your valves, have them replaced. This saved us a lot of problems and worries.

This is not the same valve as in the picture posted, nor the original made on a Duromatic series. It arrived with a different flange design/shape and did not seal. It crumbled and caused leaks during installation. When removing it, he tore the flange even more. I'm sending it back and buying directly from KR-USA.

Anyone who already has a Duromatic knows that it is basically best if after 15 years of use the seals become a bit hard (normal cookware and torn) then you simply pull the old one off out and a new one on. Work well for about ten more years. Few products are made today thanks to Kuhn Rikon for providing readily available replacement parts.

I have a "risotto cooker" but I suspect this part is universal for Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers. My valve seal had hardened and all the vapor escaped, making it almost impossible to pressurize. Didn't work. Bought 2 and both have expired. I thought the first one might be coincidence so I tried 2d with no better results. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the lip closest to the cap was not even fully screwed in, and that part of it (on both valves!) had snapped off during installation, as that area was much thinner than the other part of the lip. The valve works fine BUT I don't think the installation instructions are correct. The valve comes with a small piece of thick paper with a hole in it and the instructions show how to use this paper to install the valve. Looking at the very minimal instructions, it looks like this paper is used to control how far the valve is inserted into the cap (so it's not too far). One of the few parts on the Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker that needs replacing.
