works for lanyards

Blocking wires are not TIG stamped on the ends. They appear to be real stainless steel but they are not as springy as my real brand spring loaded bollards, I am afraid they will bend and not return to their original straight shape. They work well with lace scarves. I like that they come in a case to keep them in.

Pros
  • Genuine Type 304 stainless steel, corrosion resistant and will not rust, very suitable for wet blocking
Cons
  • Wrinkled packaging

You can't have too many locking wires!

Interlock wire is ideal for interlocking your knitwear. I don't like block wire for heavy items, they are perfect for lace and if you've ever made a picot tie you'll get a perfectly ruled edge by using block wire instead of pins. This is stainless steel which I can't stress enough you don't want to use wire. You absolutely need rust protection and smooth running in order not to get caught up in your fine work. I like to thread the wires through the edges of my lace scarves, then pull them out…

Pros
  • No stamping on the end of the wire, no need to cut the end of the TIG welding wire
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Thin but with lots of shafts

Don't make the mistake some people make and buy plain steel blocking wire! Rust will ruin your day! Avoid aluminum, bronze, or brass wire. The Kunwu locking bar is made of 304 stainless steel, a good practical grade of stainless steel. The packaging is generous - there is a lot of wire in the tube! The wire comes with blunt ends as advertised so there is no risk of injury and the poles are long! A note (not a minus, depending on usage) is that they are 1/16 inch thick. It's pretty thin and…

Pros
  • No frills blocking wire perfect for blocking lace and worsted yarns in knitting and crochet
Cons
  • Out of style
