Be sure to buy a swivel!

I bought this for my 80 lb dog and it just doesn't work. Every time he gets up and walks to the window, he twists the leash, making it shorter and shorter, to the point where he can barely sit up. This is more of a danger than a help. I honestly have no idea why they are promoting this for non vertebrae dogs, it does more harm than good.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Nothing here

My puppy tore it off, jumped out of the car window

Probably a good product for a dog so weak/small that he doesn't stand a chance, but for ANY halfway sporty or excited dog (boxer, retriever , Labrador, Beagle, German Shepherd, etc.) I strongly advise against this. My 5 month old pup (black lab German Shepherd mix) had enough strength to pull this harness out of its buckle (yes it was "snapped in place" firmly). I rolled the rear windows halfway to keep him occupied and he quickly jumped into the intersection for me to follow.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Needs an outlet

Car crash test: car seat belts

I gave the same feedback about seat belts. but thought it was worth repeating. Bought it for car trips and highway trips to protect my dog. I didn't intend to use it for short trips around town. Unfortunately, however, we were surprised by a car that drove very quickly over a stop sign. My dog was in the back seat, buckled in to the middle buckle. We were hit very hard. If she hadn't been wearing her seat belt, she would have thrown herself over the back seat and hit the passenger door. She…

A perfect match for Kurgo Harness and Kurgo Hammock Car Seat Cover

This cord works great with Kurgo Harness and Kurgo Hammock Car Seat Cover (both pictured). You can't see the harness in the photo because it's behind my dog. The hammock has a tether hole through which you can attach your car's seat belt. My lab weighs around 75-80 pounds and I bought the XL trailer. (The large crockery was too small for him). I installed a hammock on the passenger side. Allows my dog to be next to me (as the driver), sticking his head out the window for fresh air, but still…

Best suited for dogs up to 40 lbs

Nice, thin and light sling with a handy swivel carabiner. As you can see in the photo with dimensions, the usable length is no more than 23 inches. The harness is easy to adjust and the fittings are of good quality. The only downside I saw in it is the size of the carabiner. It is smaller than a regular carabiner and difficult to attach to a 2.5 cm wide strap. Attaching it to the ring shouldn't be a problem. While this restrains a dog well over 40 pounds during daily travel, I am concerned that

cookie approved. the best car seat belts

i really like this seat belt for biscuit my 12# chihuahua mix who likes to stick his head out the window and jump out when he can. length and I can leave her window open to make sure she doesn't jump out. Pros: It feels like hard work, fits my 2020 Hyundai Elantra Sport unlike the other seat belt I had. damn good for such a nice belt. The blue color is the same as the picture. quite long pieces of thread. They seem to twist and turn the harness to the side fairly easily. I recommend using a…

One click. - Harnesses

My dog wears a harness when he goes outside and I attach a carabiner to the harness before he gets in the car. The side of the seat belt can then be snapped into the vehicle's seat belt system with one simple movement. The fabric parts of car seat belts can be safely and securely stored behind back seats out of the reach of dog teeth (I've had to replace a few of these in the past - expensive). Letting go is just as easy. I adjusted the length so the dog could stand and move around a bit, but…

Seat belt is fine

We made our own version of this by threading a carabiner or rope through the base of the seat belt (in my car it's a very small seat belt loop , which secures the plastic receiver and I was able to use that loop as an anchor) and then tie a carabiner to the other end of the rope. I'm visiting my grandma but I just don't think my hyperactive dog can ride this in the car. He doesn't sit patiently by the window like the dog in the pictures - he's constantly jumping up, down, around, whimpering…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

I have this harness and I have a very awesome 94 pound pit mix. After strapping in several dozen securely while traveling, she recently got restless and rolled around in the back seat a few times and stepped on the seatbelt buckle. Luckily, I had just pulled out of the driveway and was only going a few miles per hour when she jumped out the window to visit her friend next door, who made a noise that got her excited. Was this product to blame? No, I don't think so. It was just great. She just…
