Kwikset 93001 913 Privacy Polished Brass Review

I have these doorknobs on every door in my house. I had a problem with the locking mechanism on one of the bedroom doorknobs. I contacted Kwikset and they honored their lifetime warranty by sending me a free replacement for the failed latch. I will only buy Kwikset pens from now on because they will live up to their warranty, unlike a lot of companies who always find a way NOT to live up to their warranties.

Whatever I do, gasket, no gasket, it won't break 'til it's hit. The reason for this was the installation of a 30-year-old schlage, which he replaced as the mash plug already had a latch and plunger hole. I didn't want to start drilling and chiseling when Schlage fell immediately. Also, this particular KS is garbage. The cheapest of the cheapest. I should have known better, but I tried to do cheap repairs. Only hits from now on. Buy once, swear once.

I forgot to order these for my new bathroom door and the company got them to me in less than 2 days. They are of excellent quality and have all the necessary details. Not that you need to point this out, but I recently ordered hardware online that came with no screws. It is advisable to use a well-known, reputable company. This sounds like a bot but seriously I have ordered and used 2 sets of these door handles and am not affiliated with the company in any way.

Used to replace the Schlage Orbit door handle set in bright chrome for added privacy. The latch was a push-button doorknob, and the latch button got stuck in the doorknob. I like this Kwikset polo because it has a twist-lock closure, which I think works a lot better than a button closure. The finish of the handles and the size of the mounting plate matched the Schlage Orbit perfectly, so all the door handles in the house had the same finish and were also very easy to swap out. I am so in love with these pretty bathroom handles, they match my chrome fixtures and shower rod perfectly. I find it easier to install than the call locks we have on the outside doors and the look is very clean. I find it odd that the screws for the handle are on the side where there is no lock, but I see how useful that would be if the child was locked in the bathroom and couldn't or wouldn't open the door. They also go well with Kwikset polo/cabinet pulls although they don't appear to match…

I've installed a decent number of doorknobs since my childhood home survived for a number of years so I consider myself fairly experienced. However, this doorknob is a nuisance due to the way the screws hold the escutcheon in place, and the metal used for the escutcheon itself is extremely malleable.
