Functionally, it does what it's supposed to, namely a fictitious lever. It turned out to be new in the box but upon opening I see that the back panel is badly scratched at the top and bottom (depending on how you align them).

Used on double doors - either where one door is normally closed - or double cabinet doors where they serve as door handles. Nicely made, but be prepared to knock the trim ring out of the "innards". The tension band does not work well. The rest is quite satisfactory.

These dummy pens are great. They match other Kwickset Tustin doorknobs I've found around the rest of my home. I used them on a folding closet door for aesthetic reasons. I also have one on the bypass closet door. It completes the look I wanted and is a great value.

If you're looking for grips for your home or other properties, this is great. We spent hours (sigh) looking for the perfect handles for our home. We wanted consistency throughout and ultimately chose Tustin for its looks, durability and ease of use. We purchased left and right door handles for the cabinet doors we installed. Kwikset Tustin Left Lever Dummy was just what we needed to complete our hardware makeover. When we bought Tustin levers for all the doors at a local store, we knew the finish and style was what we needed. But they had no notional leverage. The finish is brushed nickel and the lever is great for cabinet doors.

I replaced the lock and deadbolt on my front door a few years ago and never bothered to replace the wrong handles on the other side. Although it's been over 8 years I was able to quickly find the right grips, they arrived the next day and I took off the old grips and installed the new ones in about 10 minutes. The only thing I complain about is the cost - it seems a bit high for a basic "dummy" pen; A closet door handle costs about $10 less than a set of these.
