As described. Great price

Replaced an old broken shock absorber with a 1971 VW Super Beetle. Fits perfectly. I ordered two shock absorbers (one was missing the bottom metal seals so I had to use the old ones). No complaints about $15 for a shock.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • New competitors

Ordered two, received two different ones

Good quality part but I'm disappointed because I ordered two shock absorbers 343144 and got 343144 and another 349024 that didn't fit, it's wider and just doesn't fit doesn't fit. I installed the right rear one and then I was surprised that the second box has a different number and part! Ordered again and again, received wrong article number and wrong part.

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • Some little things

Excel-G Gas Shock - Shocks

Bought 4 of these for my 64 VW Beetle and they fit perfectly. Good quality and make my trip much better! My other shocks were so old that I was used to pounding around town and feeling every bump in the road. Just installed them and they fit perfectly. Did a test, they are great! Plus, they come with a lifetime limited warranty! And they also came with the discount that was just offered. Check for yourself whether there are discount offers at KYB.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • negative gift

My standard shock absorber is in the VW shop

We fit LOTS of these - front and rear for Link cars, rear for IRS cars. They are on most of my private cars. Like the smoothness and handling. A few comments - if you want a stiffer rear look at the REAR ONLY throttle setting. If you're using drop spindles the Excel works fine, but if you're using an adjustable beam many sellers are happy to sell a gas adjustable damper that doesn't have the correct valving. Do some research and if you look at the app and it's just as shocking as the Chevyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Bought these for my 71 VW Super Beetle and they may have been ok.

Bought these for my VW Super Beetle 71 and they might be fine but one was made in Mexico and the other in Japan. The problem is that they were built of different quality and had different sizes. Same shock, same number, just different manufacturing facilities in two different parts of the world. Needless to say I didn't install them but sent them back. Instead I bought a gas adjuster from Kyb and I really like it. Spend a little more money and upgrade and you won't regret it.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Secret

Same length as Suzuki Carry shock absorbers!

I immediately felt the difference with my DD51T Key Truck. Fit almost perfectly. I say almost because they are the same length when compressed and expanded, stiffer than the stocks, but FYI the tab has a steel bushing that is longer than the shock mount. You can either cut the shock bushings off or replace the bushings if you know how, remove the washers from the mounts, etc. You are capable of doing this. I hope this helps someone with carry. Rear shock absorbers are hard to find. As for theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Interchangeable
