Incredibly Nice - Shock

Bought these to replace some Monroe Sensa chains which were absolutely horrible from day one. I've used kyb before and it reminded me why. They came in a nice box :) The color was solid and they applied with no problems. I took out the old one and screwed on the bottom, then installed it and cut off the strap. This allowed him to grow straight into his top mount. Install the screw and torque to 69 ft-lbs. It's a shock, but it's nice that there's nothing more to say.

Great value for money, the truck doesn't sag anymore

I didn't have name shocks 10 years ago and shortly after that I remember going past speed bumps and the rear hitting the bumpers. It happened with no load in the truck and just me as the driver. Throw in the whole family and the rear shocks are dead. I spent a little more money this time and this is different. The ride feels rough and the truck no longer hits the bumpers. Shock absorbers cushion the ride like they should. They are usually easy to install, my only issue was that the welded screw

Does the job in spares

My Honda Odyssey 04 still seems to drive and handle well. That's when I decided to do an up and down rebound test to see if the shocks and struts were working. It's a good thing I decided to check this out as the rear shock absorbers are knocking more than once indicating a weak or failed damper. That's when I decided to look for a replacement shock kit that wasn't OEM but worked the same or better. I have often used the KYB brand on many of my vehicles in the past and have found them to handle

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented

First, aftermarket shock absorbers for the 1st generation Honda Pilot are already limited. Shocks I was excited. Also, I watched a YouTube video from a KYB employee that said the Excel-G dampers are damped a little more than standard to reduce wear on the suspension (I'm guessing the bushings) on high-end vehicles to balance mileage. This concept really won me over. Well, my '04 Pilot shocks needed replacing. They didn't feel burned out, but the car drove 120,000 miles in Southern California…
