⚙️ KYB 344398 Excel-G Gas Shock: Superior Performance in Black and Silver Review

I needed shocks for my Ram Truck, they were old, very stiff. KYBs were just what the truck needed. Now I have a much smoother ride, higher altitude, like new.

These shocks are a far cry from OE performance. They are tiny and I can easily squeeze them with the end in each hand. I have to take on most of my weight and rely on those I replace. I bought them on purpose because the description says "OEM Recommended Replacement". After comparing them, I doubt I'll put the right rear shocks in. These shock absorbers look and feel like they should be in a very light passenger car. Definitely no RAM.

Great dampers, better than those found in most Autozone, O'riley's or Advanced vehicles. I don't go to NAPA because apparently the "know-how" there still costs an arm and a leg. I brought front and rear versions to keep my cruiser stable. Did more than one trick and they were easy to install. It would have been a 5 star product but how many times have I had to test them but when I got them I was lucky I waited.

KYB make good shock absorbers and struts. But this one was a bit soft for my Dodge Ram 06. Update 01-2021 Redesigned dampers due to the extremely springy front end that rides almost washboard on freeway bumps and bridges. The first inch and a half when I push the shocks down feel like air with little or no resistance. Shock almost never recovers. Most of the country was packed with winter weather so no big deal. It was a beautiful 75 degree Sunday afternoon so I decided to install them on my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Lone Star Edition.
