KYB KG5474 Gas-a-Just Performance Gas Shock Review

Great product! Ease of installation. The only thing I didn't like was that they weren't shrunk and tied which made insertion difficult.

I wanted these shocks to be nice, but I haven't had a chance to see how my truck performs with them. I installed the first one and after tightening the top nut to factory specs (18 ft/lb) the nut was pulled off. A complete waste of time. The threads on the shocks I replace wear much further than the KYB. I think maybe the threads ran out before things got tight. I have returned both fronts and canceled the delivery of the rear shock absorbers. Completely disappointed.

The rear of the car sagged as was often the case with old 4Runners, the rear rose almost to the top so it definitely looks better. I haven't ridden on very bumpy roads so I can't confirm how or if this has changed. have been needed for a long time. Don't forget to leave the straps on (they come with the kit) until you install them.

I bought a KYB Gasajust to replace the stock shocks on my 1998 T100. Handling improved immediately. Less bouncing at slow speeds. Really smoothed out the ride at highway speeds. Please note that these shock absorbers are painted silver, not white. Apparently the new versions of the Gasajust are silver. Also note the problem with powered on hardware. These shock absorbers have been on my 4runner for two years and 25k. They don't seem to have softened one bit and I feel I can give a good opinion on durability after such a long time. Technically, they leave a lot to be desired. Each week they see a mix of highways and forest roads. No extreme terrain, but lots of gravel.
