KYB SM5267 Mount Kit Review

These are shock absorber bushings and they fit perfectly on my 2008 Grand Marquis when I had my rear shock absorbers replaced. I could probably reuse the old brackets but don't really want to take it apart if the old factory brackets fail because I was too stingy with replacements. I would recommend these over original or White Box Mystery branded parts.

It's my fault. I bought this set from stock and just looked through the contents. I mistakenly assumed that the mounting nut is attached to the washer the same way it was on the original part. When I installed new shocks I found that someone ordered this kit, took the mounting bolt and sent it back. There is a "CHECKED" sticker on the packaging, but it means nothing. Lesson: buy cheap from stock and don't check in detail, you buy twice.

Tightened the nut and it went all the way to the bottom of the bolt, then the threads on the nut broke off on the bolt ruining the bolt. I suggest finding a better quality nut rather than using one of these. And no, it was NOT crossed. It twisted the entire bolt all the way down and then popped as I started tightening it. These bushings are much better than the small ones that come with many aftermarket shocks as they are larger in diameter and the force applied to the bushings is better distributed. I think the OEM bushings are better than these but love the shape and the material they are made out of. The seller says it's a kit but it's only for one shock absorber so it's only a kit for one side of your car. I have used 1981 Ford LTD Crown Victoria front shock absorbers and they fit better than the old ones…
