Broke My Knives - Flatware & Knife Accessories

Broke ALL my ceramic knives. He broke them all and then he broke one. If you follow the instructions, you can see how the blades look crooked inside the sharpener.

  • Done
Cons
  • Sad Hardware

Look Elsewhere - Kitchen & Dining

Doesn't work very well and if you get even a little misaligned your ceramic knife is now beyond repair. My knives with red handles are from Kyrocera.

  • Many Will Do
Cons
  • Small Items

Knife Destroyer - Cutlery and accessories for knives

This is a knife destroyer, not a sharpener! I read and followed the instructions (very easy) but my first 6" Kyocera knife broke. I threw it away thinking I did something wrong and tried again with another ceramic knife but it destroyed my second ceramic knife again!

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Almost everything is available

Works great and easy to use

I have put off sending in Kyocera's ceramic knife for sharpening. It's painful and expensive so I was very happy to find this Kyocera sharpener to do this myself. It's quick, easy, and seems to sharpen them well enough.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Obsolete

A few years ago I discovered the world of ceramic knives and it was a love affair, I had many brands of premium knives. But those are my"moves". After years of use, even they begin to fade. But sharpening has breathed new life into my expensive ceramic knives. See they are extremely sharp, best suited for my ceramic knives.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Fur. incorrect sharpening angle of Kyocera Advanced ceramic knives.

Mech. A 1000 grit wheel is good, although the plastic body feels a bit cheap. While this "sharpens"* Kyocera ceramic knives, the angle is significantly less sharp than factory-sharpened knives, and the resulting edge is noticeably less sharp than factory-supplied knives. improve, but I will not use it for mending or sanding.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Don't buy this. on knife sharpener

I bought a diamond blade knife sharpener for my kyocera 7 inch ceramic knife. It's gotten a little less spicy over the last few years and I thought this was the perfect way to bring it back. Wow! It was a big mistake. I put it through a knife sharpener as instructed and the knife actually dulled like a butter knife. The knife is now unusable. I am very disappointed in this product and would rate it much lower if I could.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not bad

Works well with shorter knives

I've read previous reviews of knives breaking with use but thought for the price it was worth a try. This sharpener has worked well on my paring knives that are over 5 years old. However, I see that it would be difficult to get the blade of a longer knife straight through the sharpening wheels. The instructions warn not to "twist" or press hard on the blade during use. Most of us are used to sharpening steel knives, I don't think ceramic blades are that strong so they need to be treated with…

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Will write later
