My third Kyocera knife, all great

Along with this knife I also had a white Kyocera 6" Santoku (until its blade broke a few years later) and currently owns a black 6" Kyocera Nakiri (which is one of my favorite kitchen knives). In my experience, ceramic knives are better than steel knives for slicing fresh boneless chicken, fresh fish, and vegetables. They stay sharper longer, are lightweight and easy to clean. Save your steel knives for everything boning related, heavy cutting and anything that involves turning/sideways…

Pros
  • BLADE MADE IN JAPAN: Made from Kyocera's patented Zirconia material Made in Japan for exceptional quality and beauty
Cons
  • Great price

Super sharp, light weight and well balanced

Love this knife. However, I recommend being aware of what a ceramic knife can and cannot cut, and how brittle it is compared to steel. This Kyocera knife was sharp and stayed sharp. The old Kyocera we have is over a year old and still as sharp as day one. When DH gave me the first one, he explained that it doesn't need to be sharpened as long as it's used strictly on soft materials and never falls off. Good, because I've heard that ordinary sharpeners no longer exist, that ceramic blade…

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Another great ceramic knife from Kyocera

I've been a big fan of Kyocera ceramic kitchen knives since I first bought the set a few years ago. Only one thing has ever gone wrong - I lost the chip trying to use it to twist something I'm cutting (NOT recommended as it turns out) and Kyocera replaced it promptly and without complaint when I took it to the nearest US - Office returned. This new 5 inch kitchen knife is slightly thicker from top to bottom than the same length knife I've had before and unlike the other knives it has a straight

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

Kyocera makes my favorite ceramic knives

This is my eighth ceramic knife and my fourth Kyocera. I started with the T-Fal and wasn't impressed with its sharpness, then got my first Kyocera and was so impressed with the difference. I had my first Kyocera knife in 10 years and it lost some of its sharpness but not by much. If you've never used a ceramic knife before, heed the warnings not to use it on frozen foods or bone-in meat. . Ceramics can be ground super sharp, but they can also break into one piece or even splinter under intense…

Pros
  • That's awesome
Cons
  • Working speed
