A cheap and easy solution to protect spark plug wires.

So. I have 8.0mm jegs cables on my SBC. Due to the design of the connector I have both straight wires and wires with a 90 degree connector. Installation was easy and I had none of the issues discussed previously. There was no need to remove the metal ring or undo the stitching. It looks like it does a great job of protecting my wires from melting on the header.

Pros
  • Makes me feel good
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Awarded after 400 miles

Perfect, looks new after 400 miles. I even spilled oil on one and was worried what it would be like, they were fine and I don't see any oil stains or burns. I used needle nose pliers to loosen the rings a bit, inserted the wires, used pliers to press the rings back closed (squeeze gently) to keep them snug on the wires (boots). It was fairly easy (20 minutes) and I have larger-than-average wires. 2001 Silverado 2500HD 6.0L. (LQ4) With decent Duralast wire. (Bigger wires than most). Tip: be calm

I NEED IT FOR A BBC RV

I bought a BBC RV and finally decided to test the previous owner's setup. 4 of 8 ignition cables were burned. Could this be the cause of the sporadic misfires? I bought a Revain Vendors distributor kit complete with spark plug wires and a set of timing springs. This high temp boot put these new cables in place and I can't think of any problems as I noticed where the cable's plug there was smoke dust and crumbled silicone. I added a set of 1200 degree sheaths above just for safety as some wires…

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Very expensive
