Congo Gray's favorite food

I have 2 male African Greys, Congo and Timneh. Only Congo eats these flatbreads. He should have about 6 or 7 each day. These cakes are his favorite food. My vet highly recommends these tortillas as they are very nutritious and beneficial for all birds.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • No instructions

Yummy and healthy!: Food

My usually very picky 22 year old gray parrot can't get enough of these Avi cakes. He loves to eat them, I love that he gets a nutritious snack. He's always been ambivalent about Nutri-Berries, so I was surprised at how much he liked them - he enjoys eating them all and with very little waste. I only wish I had tried them before.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Weight

You can't go wrong with this.

My Gray doesn't go in a cage without her. At first they were a special treat, but now they are necessary. I have ordered them monthly. Luckily he gets lots of vitamins through them and never throws them away. Until now they were the key to the kingdom. Thank god for that. Not to mention that this is the cheapest place to find them. Billy LOVES his Avi Cakes!

My parrot loves these cakes very much. My vet recommended her and she was great. I cut them horizontally and then along the edges along the pre-cut border of each cake. This makes the two cakes into four pieces, big enough for him to hold in his claws while eating. You lose the seed during consumption, but the seed is still not that good for him! I feed him pellets and fruit/veg so I only give him two cakes in the morning.

Great treat for birds or transitioning from seed

I used these on my vet's advice to convert my seed loving bird into pellets and it worked! He got used to the taste of the Ellets in it and over time started using Harrison's Granules, which I also processed. I've been buying them for over a decade and giving them a little a day or as a treat. I don't feed them exclusively because they are quite expensive and not large in volume. This is one of the highest quality treats for your poultry.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Minor issues

My two parrots love them! They get a small piece every morning.

Both my parrots love it! They get a small bite in their bowl of nuts and seeds every morning, and they always eat it first! My amazon is picky but he thought it was great! I bought three packs, the quality is excellent, I plan to buy more when the last pack is gone! Ever favorite! ------- About a billion orders later. I think I didn't post it. For a long time! --- The product is the baby parrots' favorite morning meal after oatmeal and fresh fruit (yes, they spoiled!) I have it on my order all…

Good treat for food

I use them as a treat for my sun conure which is very picky. She loves it. They're pretty flexible. They are a single rectangular piece with notches. Something like a Hershey's candy bar. I usually cut along the lines into smaller pieces and then back into even smaller pieces. That way I don't waste time breaking it by hand. Then I put the parts back in the bag and zip it up on the bag. This keeps them moist. If you don't close/seal the bag, the seeds will dry out. Although I don't think it…

  • Great for me

  • Not bad but...

Use sparingly with Revains (birds, not on website)

I'm a vet and our contacts and boarders Gray and Revane love Lafebers, in fact we use regular Nutriberries as a staple. But keep in mind that Reveiners, especially neck yellows, are very sensitive to sugar, and I've seen induced diabetes from as little as one slice of orange a day. Because of the molasses in these cakes, I would limit them to a few times a week as a treat rather than a staple for this breed. Needless to say we haven't found a breed that doesn't love these, from the smallest to…

  • Absolutely amazing!

It's nicknamed the "Birdie Crack " for a reason.

My Lilac-Crown (Medium Revain) has been doing her little pleasure dance for this thing for decades. It's enough for me to bring the bag into view for him to have seizures. In fact, I can't leave a package in sight, otherwise he'll try to fly there (and he stopped flying about 30 years ago, if he wants to find me he goes for a walk). Incredibly attractive (addictive? :-) For parrots of all sizes, the only trick is not to overdo the treats and to exclude all other foods; They probably wouldn't…
