A secure base for the corner rail.

I like this product. Holds the corner rail securely, but then unscrews flat enough to be stored in a storage case. I'm thinking of screwing it to a piece of plywood so it has more to hold and maybe attach to a table. The only reason I haven't done this yet is because then it won't fit in the Lansky storage box. I love that the base has screw holes in all four corners. Be sure to use it with the Lansky Angle Guide Sharpening System.

Pros
  • Good value for money

  • I'm nervous

This makes the best sharpener easier and better.

I received a Lansky sharpening system for my birthday last month but it didn't come with a holder. The Lansky system works well, but adding this holder makes it even better! I would recommend anyone who just wants a razor sharp knife to buy a Lansky system and get a holder, at the same time it makes the job easier and you get a much better blade. I mounted my stand on a 4" x 9" piece of board so it would still be easy to work with, but strong enough to give my knives a smooth, even edge.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Crumpled

Use some Teflon tape on the threads

Much better than holding the clamp by hand and much better than the C clamp (I've never had a C clamp). It will mark your clamp as aluminum rubbing together making it obvious, but the weight of this stand makes up for it. While it's best to bolt it to a table or workbench, I don't have that luxury, so I just hold it over newspaper to catch the shavings. Be sure to put teflon tape on the threads, otherwise you'll focus on keeping the pin screwed in and not sharpening the knife.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Damaged

unreliable design; inexpensive materials and workmanship.

later This socket consists of two indescribable pieces of metal that are connected to each other. The base is designed to be bolted to a board (or other suitable "foundation") for maximum stability. Unfortunately, with normal use, the vertical section detaches from the horizontally oriented base. This renders the sharpening system inoperable until tightened. Repairing is annoying because no grinding progress is possible during these frequent breaks. The manufacturer must sell a socket that…

Must have option for Lansky

This is a must have for your Lansky. It's possible to use a sharpener without it, and I still do when I get to the last few singles on each side, but it's a big help when I'm spending a lot of time with a knife. probably screw it to the tree to make things more permanent. It stays flat on the counter or table without attachment, but it would be nice to have a station installed. If you watch videos you will see that this is not a "hard" mount. You'll still need to hold the sharpener in place…

Cons
  • Doubtful

Great product when you screw it into the platform

As the name suggests. You have to screw it into something like a 6" x 6" board or there will be no stability when sharpening. The product is made of aluminum and while strong, it doesn't have the weight to balance when you're sharpening. My only complaint about this product is that the post required a bit more milling to allow most of the knife holder to fit over the entire post (it sits back a few mm which reduces its stability) and that the stylus is kind of prone to this to loosen/unscrew…
