This is an excellent quality paper. With the wet-on-wet technique, the watercolor paint can be mixed well and spread well. Worth the money compared to Strathmore for an excellent experience. Good paper took my watercolor skills to the next level. The learning process was much more enjoyable when the paper stayed workable (wet) longer = mixed and flowed better and the pigment lifted.

Finding a hole to separate it from the block is easy. It is located to the left of the block behind the binding. Amazing quality and worth upgrading a bit for great quality! If like me you're on a tight budget and can't afford anywhere near $100 for Arches' touted journal, THIS is what you need! They did everything that needed to be done and I was amazed. Highly recommend for watercolor beginners like me!

Good. So here's my disclaimer; This paper is of very high quality and is excellent for watercolors. But removing the top sheet leaves a sticky mess at the edge of the paper and a pad that you have to pick up and roll away. It's annoying and for the price I expect higher quality material holding the block together. Fluid Easy Block is better. The liquid will still leave a streak of glue on the block, but you can easily cut it with a utility knife or razor blade. Unfortunately, the paper tears…

This paper is ideal for watercolors. It doesn't have as much texture as sheets or baohong paper, but it still absorbs very well and works just as well. The only problem I have is that the paper tears much easier than other brands. I can't use painter's tape because of the tears. I have duct tape that works better but always goes up. Another plus is that each notebook comes in a pad of 15 sheets instead of the usual 12 sheets. It's a lot cheaper than most watercolor papers and because it's 100%…
