I've been using this air filter replacement for a few years now; the device is very nice. At the original price of $12, it was quite expensive. However, Levoit decided to literally DOUBLE the price of the product on April 1, 2021. That's a 100% price increase! This is unacceptable. This made the entire product a deal breaker. Now I have to buy a new device because these filters are extremely expensive.

I bought this after careful consideration of the following points. Size, true HEPA, noise and easy filter replacement and purchase. This filter performs well in all dimensions. I paint on glass and the resulting dust can be harmful. I tested this filter with smoke, and even on the lowest setting, it pulls well from a foot or more away. 7/17/20 Edit: I contacted LEVOIT's amazing customer service and they sent me another set free of charge. Unfortunately the problem is still current. Replacement carbon pre-filters are made in a variety of ways; appears to be of lower quality. I actually bought another air purifier to compare the pre-filters in the box with replacement pre-filters. Luckily, replacing the HEPA filter looks fine. I currently have five Levoit air purifiers. I'm so glad I discovered this brand. Two smaller units are in each of the two smaller bedrooms; two medium sized units are located in the dining room and family room; and the larger unit is in the living room. I like these air purifiers for our bedrooms. It's wildfire season, aka summer in PNW. I bought these last year and they really help us along with our large honeywell hpa300 air purifier in our main living area. At level 1 they run quietly and at level 2 they sound like a low speed fan. If the air quality is dangerous, we run it at level 3. The filter lasts a long time which is a bonus.
