I bought this to replace two much smaller 4K monitors I used with my MacBook Pro. When I upgraded to the MacBook Air M2, I was disappointed to learn that the M2 chip could only drive an external monitor. I've been looking for a large ultra-wide 4K+ monitor for a long time. This kid will not disappoint you! It's huge, crystal clear, bright and perfect for work. I can easily work with 3-4 applications at the same time.

Received this monitor today. Revain double boxed it because the monitor box was badly damaged and a whole corner was torn off. Too bad Revain tried to hide the damaged box with a duplicate box and didn't alert me to the problem. Luckily the monitor works perfectly. Have two of these monitors - one at work and one at home. I find the brightness just perfect for office work without gaming. I use Power Delivery on my MacBook Pro. One big monitor is better than two small ones. My spare drive is connected to the Thunderbolt port on the back of the monitor. One Cable - Use the cable they give you for Thunderbolt 4 to get the performance and bandwidth. Do not buy a generic USB-C cable that may not be Thunderbolt 4 compatible.

I replaced two 42" 4k monitors with this one. I also wanted to remove the speakers from my desk. I'm very happy with the result. The only thing I don't like so far is when someone speaks in a low voice. It seems just being the frequency that makes something vibrate. Doesn't happen often, but when it does it's annoying. You must use a DisplayPort cable to have a 72Hz refresh rate. I first used an HDMI cable and a refresh rate lock of 30, looked at the manual and then realized I had to use a DP cable.

I consider this large monitor an upgrade from my previous dual monitor (27 inch QHD). The reasons are better text clarity (due to higher PPI), better ergonomics (front-facing, larger windows), and auto-brightness. A brightness of 300 cd is sufficient for programming at home. I even put a label on the light sensor to dim the brightness for convenience.

I tried the LG 35" and the Samsung 49" but neither gave me the sharpness and resolution that this monitor delivers for everyday use. I was initially hesitant to buy this given the higher price but so happy I finally gave in and bought it. It was a game changer for performance.

I ended up returning this product. It was exactly what I wanted in terms of 5k2k resolution, ports and build. However, 300 nits of brightness just wasn't enough in my brightly lit office. The screen also looked dim compared to my MacBook Pro M1. If the brightness was 450 nits+ it would have been a 5 star rating but for me it was just unbearable.

There's no getting around it - if you don't care about pixel count or screen size, you can find a cheaper option than this monitor. However, if you're looking (ironically) for a more affordable option to Apple's insanely expensive line of monitors, then this LG is for you.
