🍴 Whirlpool/Kenmore Dishwasher Silverware Basket - Lifetime Appliance Compatible (WP8531233) Review

Perfect fit for our Kitchenaide dishwasher (aka expensive POS). The original basket had several sections where the bottom was broken to allow cutlery to fall out. We ran out of cutlery places. The plastic on this replacement looks and feels cheaper, but feels solid. I hope this and the other repairs I've done will last at least a year or two.

Note to self if the item isn't completed by Revane and Prime, don't. Now about the shelf for the dishwasher. This is not an OEM part and is not advertised as such. This is not a spa part and is not made from the same material. The overall quality is poor, the mold is not very strong. I suspect it will warp more during the heat drying cycle, but I'm keeping it to myself to remind myself to be more careful when buying Revain.

We were looking for a replacement cutlery basket for our dishwasher as our bottom strainer had become cracked from years of hot water use. We thought we liked this one even better than the original because it had more cutlery folds that age on their own. We are very happy with our purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a replacement cutlery rack for their dishwasher that uses this model.

It turned out to be a perfect replacement for my Kitchenaid dishwasher basket and I was pleased to have gotten a relatively good price, but the removable lid that held the cutlery upright started to warp the first wash. Also, the very small protrusions on the side of this lid (which are meant to hold the lid in place but keep it movable) were too short, so the lid kept detaching from the basket and falling out when cutlery was removed from the slots. . Update: About a month later one of the side flaps is warped and won't stay in place. This is frustrating because I use these flaps to separate cutlery when cleaning. I'm disappointed. I really wanted to like this product but returned it due to poor product performance/weak design. The moment we got it I could tell it was "lighter" than Kitchenaid's OEM kit and you can tell the plastic is thinner all around. The main problem for us is that we put all our spoons/forks/knives etc in holes on additional (top/bottom) separate left and right holders.
