Just received and both took about 5 minutes to install. Just use a flathead screwdriver to remove the clips holding the old ones in place. The new ones already had the clips in place and I just pushed the pieces in and the clips locked them securely in place with no fiddling. Simply.

I am very pleased with the performance of these struts. If our '08 Sienna didn't have an electric lift I would agree with other reviewers that I would have to be careful how the hatch opens, they are very solid. But the electrical part of the elevator system slows the door down to a safe speed, and there's no way I want it to open faster. It takes about 10 minutes to install on both sides, very easy.

Very easy assembly! Just remove one worn rack at a time and replace with a new one, and no extra person is needed. First attach the end of the tailgate to the new brace, then slightly lift the tailgate with one hand and attach the opposite end of the brace to the body stud. It only took a flathead screwdriver to remove the clips from the old posts.
