Type of review

I wrote some bad reviews before purchasing this smart home garage bridge. I already had a MyQ on a Chamberlain garage door opener and remember the setup was unintuitive but ultimately successful. Conclusion: It works very well if you take your time, follow the instructions and set it up properly. MUCH depends on your home network. If your Wi-Fi signal is poor in the garage, you will get poor results and the door will not always work. So in that case, get a WiFi extender, but don't blame the…

Buyer Warning! The installation is very frustrating!

Update: I managed to get Home Bridge working after many hours of troubleshooting, so I'm updating my review. Ever since I got it working it has been buggy. For example, thinking it's open when it's closed, rendering the device inoperable. You just need to manually open/close the door to sync it back up. With that in mind, I think my rating should be 2 stars. Deducting 1 star for the crashes, 1 star for a very frustrating installation, and 1 star for the broken HomeKit.————I bought Garage Hub…

It works but was designed by evil engineers.

User @b737officeview I feel your pain. He mentioned that it will restart if there is a power failure. This is not entirely true. I noticed that if you keep turning it on, it won't connect to the network and you start flashing blue light. If you wait about 1 or 2 hours. finally it comes back and works fine. So big FYI. I use this for homekit with home helper. It works but you have to jump through hoops. For instructions, see the Home Helper community forum post by searching "MyQ Bridge - MyQ…

Oh so hard to set up and buggy - Had to go back

I bought it with Smart Garage Hub so I could add my two doors to Homekit. I have a very long experience with a home automation product that controls 60-80 lights, switches, thermostats, sensors and speakers in both Homekit and Indigo. Setting up the basic Smart Garage Hub required for this thing to work was pretty good. I managed to get both doors working at the same time, but deleted the hub, rebooted and everything worked pretty well. Now onto the HomeKit hub - OMG. Repeatedly adding to the…

Requires some patience but works quite well.

Works and generally good. I have two garage doors and it was a bit difficult to transfer these two doors from the MyQ 0301 as the instructions (at the time of installation) in the app were a bit wrong for the second door. Basically he repeated the transfer instructions he used for the 1st door and if you follow them exactly it won't work. I'm sure they will update or have already updated this step of instructions in the app, but when you think about what the steps do and know that the…
