I like this yarn because it's cheap and practical for kitchen towels and washcloths. I make black washcloths for my grandkids who love the turtle pattern and the anchor pattern.

I love this brand of cotton. It's expensive, durable, and easy to use for beginners. Makes simple items of perfect thickness such as pot holders, hats, scarves, blankets, quilted squares, samplers. Easy to double up on the circular loom if you want a thicker weave.

The quality of the yarn is as expected, but the color is more reminiscent of navy blue or what black jeans look like after many washes. I was hoping for a richer, denser black. The picture shows a large ball of black Red Heart. Center is Sugar 'N Cream in black and right is Sugar 'N Cream in indigo.

I knit a lot of different things with this yarn and also use it for plastic canvases. It washes well, lint-free and is thin enough to dry out when used as a kitchen towel or washcloth, but wears like iron when used on reusable bags, slippers and pot holders. I have 4 ounces. ball in black. Regular solid colored balls weigh 2.5 ounces. and 2 oz ombre, I think it depends on the color you choose.
