New is not always better

I decided to buy this model of wireless modem because it has the same performance and apparent durability. plastic vs. the elements) that has been exposed to both heat and cold (northern extremes of Michigan) and has never failed or lost connection (4 years in use). A user outlet is located in the house (60 feet away). Yes, this modem is an "old" model, but I would buy it again as long as it works the way it used to.

Constant dips/ Doesn't match 300/600Mbps

Went back to update my review - Tried another wifi card as another was bought with my last router, seemed to stop working, so I ran the router for another week to give it a solid shot. Less frequently interrupted but still crashing, some days only 60Mbps on the 5GHz band, crashes on 2 out of 3 devices hard-wired to it, low signal strength (80-160Mbps) on the supposed gigabit -Port. connected directly to my family computer. I just printed my returns slip today, now I have to wait about a week…

Sent, arrived quickly on time and works great

works great. Only a router and a power adapter came as a used item. It's okay, I know the EA family so there weren't any issues setting it up. The default password didn't work, so it looks like it was sent with the configuration it had. It's okay, I've factory reset the settings and installed the latest firmware which is a few months old at the moment. Performance is as expected for the rated speed. It's a little worn, but it was used and I knew it wouldn't look new. In any case, he looks at…

Fire hazard: computers and accessories

The electrical connector in the "power supply" adapter turns red when touched and the entire device turns off due to overheating in the dialer or resistance in the connector. When the plug is disconnected from the power supply, the power plug cools down. where to deal with it. When reconnected, the device turns on again.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

This is NOT an 802.11AC enabled router. DO NOT BUY!

I have had this router for 5 years and all along I thought it was an 802.11AC compatible router. It worked well up to 160Mbps but never went beyond that. I always thought it was my ISP. I just found out that "draft 802.11AC" is misleading and doesn't exist. Either it's compatible or it's not. DO NOT BUY if you are looking for the latest Wi-Fi compatibility or speed. Also, I chatted with Linksys/Belkin support this morning, all the clerk knew was the configurations. so that was useless too. I've

Say goodbye to Ethernet cables, hello AC!

I used to have a Linksys EA4500/N900 along with a Belkin N450DB to cover my entire home with 5GHz WiFi, but I recently upgraded my internet speed to 100Mbps, so I had to upgrade to a better router instead of my Belkin as it didn't have gigabit input or output which of course limited internet speed as well as LAN speed to it. I chose the Linksys AC1600 based on the many good reviews I read previously and the good signal and AC speed. I use it together with EA4500 and my house is fully covered…

upset. Some standard features are missing.

First of all it seems broken or buggy. According to the manual, the Linksysxxxxx network should appear when you turn it on, but it doesn't. Impossible for anyone without expert experience to overcome. The workaround was to connect to the hidden SSID using the provided network name and password. Second. I just realized that this router is missing a very simple feature that has been present in Wi-Fi routers for 15+ years: you can't hide the network name and also configure (limit) its transmit…
