I love the color but the yarn will unravel as you use it.

I love the color but the yarn unravels with use. So unless you are very tight with the stitches (which you shouldn't be when crocheting) it will unravel as you work and get tangled on the needle. And it looks very fuzzy when doing the project.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • About

I bought this cheap one for practice (I'm learning new stitches). The threads are barely twisted so if you hold the thread tightly it will unravel. You will find that you are walking through the thread, not under it. Also, she's pretty tough. Instead, I suggest getting a thick and fast coat.

Pros
  • machine wash; The initial water temperature should not exceed 40°C or 105°F; Can't use bleach
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

It turned out to be a great scarf!

Good yarn but I think the post raving about its incredible softness raised my expectations too much. It's soft. But there are many types of yarns that are softer. This was the perfect yarn for my 13 gauge needle and knitting style and made a great scarf. I could have come up with a softer texture for a baby blanket for example, but I wanted a scarf and am very happy with it.

Pros
  • machine wash; The initial water temperature should not exceed 40°C or 105°F; Don't use bleach.
Cons
  • Available in black only.

Great yarn, sometimes with knots

Love this yarn but I bought four Chicago Charcoal and two came with a knot, not with a smooth connection, which was a bit shocking/disappointing. Also, it's a great yarn and I've bought many, many skeins before this order without this problem. Of the 13 skeins I bought, 3 had knots and one skein had 3 knots. This is a good yarn, but it can be hit or miss.

Pros
  • Made in USA, US hometown offers a wide range of bright primary colors, versatile multicolors and textured tweeds
Cons
  • Some little things
